History

A flat-out story

Born as an aluminium and magnesium foundry, Marchesini soon became the most famous brand of wheels for racers and enthusiasts in the world. The first customer for Marchesini racing wheels back in 1988 was Ducati and today the current  World Superbike championship motorcycle manufacturer continues to choose Marchesini for its  innovation, design and quality  key values.

In March 2000, the company enforced its leadership and enriched its know-how when Brembo took over 70% of the company shares (rising to 100% in October 2002). Marchesini’s structure and distribution chain were reorganized, with the aim of reaching the highest service and quality standards owing to a strong synergy with Brembo, the runaway leader of the racing world.
In 2000, Marchesini added the manufacture of aluminium and magnesium alloy forged wheels obtained from crude parts to the manufacture of cast wheels. This technique allowed even lighter and high performance products to be manufactured. The company moved its headquarters to Jerago con Orago, still in the Varese area.

Production continued to focus on leading products, with the accomplishment of the first forged magnesium monolithic wheel specially designed for racing use. Research pivoted on design and geometrical structures, with the 5-spoke wheel with a Y design, also called 10-spoke wheel, which today is used by many successful teams, and in 2006 launched the forged magnesium 7-spoke wheel, which can now be found with race-winning MotoGp teams. The new range of forged aluminium wheels for road models and Supermotards saw the light in 2005.
