Max Biaggi, a double win in the USA
May 31 – Max Biaggi, riding his new Aprilia RSV4, won race 1 and race 2 of the US GP, on Salt Lake City track, thus renewing the feat of Portimao and Monza.
Spanish Checa was betrayed twice by his Ducati while leading the race. A slip in race 2 caused standing leader Haslam to slip back to the 2nd place, edged out by Biaggi.
