Another factor leading manufacturers chose Marchesini racing for its prestigious special edition models is the combination between lightness, performance and reliability. In 2006, Marchesini supplied the YZF-R1SP Yamaha limited edition with its 5-spoke “Y” design wheels, a tribute to the superbike R-series and Japanese Yamaha technology.

In 2008 the Ducati Desmosedici RR was launched for the road, a real GP copy that exceeds the highest standards of technology and extreme performances that are typical of the most current sportbikes is fitted  with the new forged magnesium 7-spoke wheels.

Directly stemming from the experience gained within the highest competition, Marchesini adapted its 7-spoke wheels for this road going MOTOGP bike. Gaining the same advantages of the racing product developed using FEM analysis or Fea design the wheels achieve the best compromise in terms of weight, rigidity and strength. While many technical developments were made in anti corrosion  to ensure long life for road use.
