Supermotard

For more than 30 years, Marchesini has been the leading manufacturer of motorcycle wheels in Italy. Taking advantage of its market leading technology and experience in Forged Aluminium, Marchesini is proud to launch its new Supermotard wheel, the first to offer an alternative to the commonly used spoke wheel. By integrating the wheel design used by the most successful teams in Moto GP and World Superbike championships and further timely geometric designs and research of special materials, Marchesini offers a new generation of wheels that overcomes the extreme demands required to improve SUPERMOTARD performance.

Identical in the design, but completely different in the planning stage and fittings, this wheel implies all Marchesini experience in the field of races.

 

In comparison with the previous model, the geometry of the wheel has been totally revised, improving some essential characteristics:

 

- further weight reduction, which allows an increase of the handiness of the motorcycle on bends and, obviously, a reduction on the braking spaces thanks to the gyroscopic effect reduction.

 

- it is not foreseen the use of the inner tube, which allows a further reduction on the weight compared to the mass-produced wheels.

 

- the new spoke design allows an improvement of the sturdiness and the rigidity.

 

In particular, comparing Marchesini Supermotard wheels ( Named Kompe )  with a traditional spoke wheel as currently used in SUPERMOTARD currently  the following advantages are found:

 

  • 110% improvement on rigidity;
  • 15% weight reduction per set;
  • 15% inertia reduction per set.

The results obtained are the following:

 

  • The increased rigidity of the (whole) wheel and the reduced weight and inertia remarkably improve the motorcycle's stability under braking, on tight turns and sudden changes of direction which are typical in SUPERMOTARD circuits;
  • Due to the “spoke” design, The wheel/tyre temperature reaches optimum conditions earlier ensuring the best grip in all conditions;
  • Tubeless technology and anti–puncture systems eliminate the use of inner tubes:
  • Spokes require no maintenance between races;
  • Wheels are more easily installed (and in most cases allow space for better brake systems).

 

 

For road bikes, such as Yamaha XT 660X, “KOMPE” is available with rubber dumpers and a sprocket carrier.

 

“KOMPE” in the Supermotard version is available in the following colours: anodized silver, black,                                   

                                           ( It may also available in other colours on request. )

 

 “KOMPE” in the Supermotard version is supplied with complete fittings: spacers and disc carrier. Entirely machined from solid Ergal and anodized in black, these accessories ensure easy replacement of the Original Equipment.

- Front wheel:  3.50”x17”        3.50”x16.5”

 

- Rear wheel: 4.25” – 4.50” – 5.00” – 5,40”x17”
